Icky Icky Ick!
I’ve held off the past few days to unleash my wrath in regards to the winter weather storm system that just passed through our area.
To organize my thoughts, I’ll put them in number order. They are not in any particular order, just as my convulsing brain spits them out.
1. Amity and Exeter Township (to the east of Reading, PA): What the hell were you thinking? Was your road crew inside watching American Idol or some stupid reality show? May someone shove all that slush down the back of your pants!!
2. My daughter’s nursery school: I fight through the sleet Tuesday morning to take her to school. There was hardly anyone there except for the nasty lady who sits at the front desk. After dropping off Mo I ask her if they were going to close due to the bad weather. Nasty Lady tells me “no”. I get a call 90 minutes later from MG saying that they closed. I had to turn around and go back. When I picked up Mo, Nasty Lady was read the riot act. Her excuse. She had to go to the bathroom! WTF?!?
3. Clueless drivers: Either you had dildos driving oversized SUV’s thinking they own the road or people who are scared and drive 2MPH in THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!!!
4. My apartment complex: You took your sweet time coming with the snow plows, but when you get here you only plowed the road and not the extra parking spaces. Hello?!? Isn’t this why I pay you rent? I can see unburying my car, but after that I should have been able to just move it into a cleared spot. This is yet another reason why I want to move.
5. My boss: I was told I could try to VPN in from home due to the weather and when I wasn’t able to, he said that because Mo’s school was closing he would charge me a personal day. Don’t think so! Lucky for me, he was nice enough to change his mind.
The worst of us is behind us. The roads are still icy and there are some areas that haven’t even been plowed yet. I guess I should be grateful we didn’t get the amount of snow my Aunt Grace got or what my buddy Noodle got in Syracuse. I’d hate to see how people around here would react.
