One of the gifts I received that surprised me the most was the new Charles Schulz biography. It was something that I really wanted, but as of recent weeks had totally forgotten about it.
I didn’t get through the preface and I learned a very important thing about myself.
Schulz would always tell people that he was a very simple, down to Earth man when in fact he was complex, moody and sometimes hard to relate to. I had no other choice to but to measure this up against my own life.
For years, I have been telling people that I am simple, to the point and that I wear my heart my sleeve. Reality has set in and I’ve come to realize that this is far from the truth. I am very complex and when I think that people know me I tend to change gears and head another direction. I tend to sabotage relationships with close friends and I have mood swings more frequent then a busy childhood playground.
Why does this all happen? I have no idea. It’s just something that I have to figure out..
***NEWS FLASH***
On a positive front, it looks like Mo will NOT need surgery for now. The doctor says that she has something wonky with her left kidney, but wants to see if it will correct itself. I’m very relieved because Lord knows the little girl has been through enough.
Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes. Love you all..
It’s funny as you get older you realize that Christmas isn’t about what you get or what you didn’t get; it’s a matter of the quality of time that you spend with those you love.
To all those that I didn’t get a chance to reach out to today, I apologize. I ran into a slight issue on Sunday when I threw my back out. I’ve been a wreck since and tonight when I planned on making my much needed Christmas phone calls I fell alseep. Please forgive me.
This little Piggy went Wee Wee Wee all the Way Home
MG beat me to the punch OVER HERE, but wanted to let you all know that my little sweetheart has been having some bladder issues lately. She’s been very hard on herself thinking that she’s been having accidents of sorts, but her Mother and I knew that there was something else going on. After two urine tests we took her to go get an ultrasound on Wednesday (oh the fun). Today, the results came in and well, they’re not horrendous, but they’re not good either.
In so many words, she needs to go for more tests and see a urologist. Stay tuned here or over at MadelineMonkey to find out the status on my little booty!
Ok all you 3.5 people who read this page, you have an assignment from Professor Prick! My mommy has a blog that no one knows about. (Heck, even I forgot about it and I’m the doofus who set it up!!)
Make it a point to check there every so often. Since most of you people are very stealthy I know that you won’t leave any footprints. If you feel so inclined, leave her a comment. Say something like, “You son is the most thoughtful person in the world” or “You are so lucky to have such a wonderful son”.
I think you get the idea. Just get on over there and say hi. Below is the link. Now go!
Another 5 minutes in this office and I’m gonna explode. People around here are just downright ignorant. You try to bring up things to the proper people and they IGNORE them.
I’ve had it up to HERE.
Let the beatings begin!!
*edit* Where was my Christmas Cheer in this post?!? I know what we’ll do… Instead of putting another YuleLog on the fire, I’ll use it to beat the offenders in my workplace. Now THAT will bring me Christmas cheer.
“It’s Christmas time in Hollis Queens Mom’s cooking chicken and collard greens
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees
Decorate the house with lights at night Snow’s on the ground, snow white so bright
In the fireplace is the yule log Beneath the mistletoe as we drink egg nog
The rhymes you hear are the rhymes of Darryl’s But each and every year we bust Chrsitmas carrols”
Every year someone prays for Christmas miracle and well this year is no different. With 8 days left til Christmas I thought it was about time to go and pick up my tree out of Storage (AKA Erik’s house) and get it set up. Picking the tree up and bringing to the house was the easy part. Getting everything set up was a major pain in the kafoofy (note the time of this post)
A few hours and a run to the store later, the tree and nearby vicinity are complete. I can’t wait for Mo to see everything tomorrow! She is going to be one happy camper. What I have isn’t much, but it’s all I have. I may not have the decorations that other may have, but what you see is what comes from my heart of my bottom. LOLOL!!
Anywhooo, enjoy the pics. You can check out my Flickr page for more photo fun.
I’ve mentioned about some of the people I work with over the past few months.
There is Crazy Plant Lady and there is also Rabbi SpeakerPhone. Today let me introduce you to “The Phone Monkey”
Her job is to answer the support calls so we don’t have to. She’s an odd sort always wanting to be the center of attention. Well yesterday was no different. We had our Christmas luncheon and lo and behold not an angel appeared before us, but more like this..
I think the entire group was stunned. Guess what? I had the fortune of sitting next to her. Ugh! I think that somewhere during the course of dinner one of the friggen feathers landed in my food. Yeeech!
