There is a lot of hate in this world, especially during this Election year. You hear very mean and hateful rhetoric coming from both sides. Now is a time where we need a person like Fred Rogers to find the better in all of us. To make us feel good rather than letting other people tear us apart.
I for one miss Fred Rogers. If you have ever read anything about him you know about the heart and wisdom I speak of.
No matter our intentions, we are bound to let someone down. We are destined as humans to make mistakes big and small.
This is not saying we get a free pass for what we do. We must learn and grow from these mistakes in order to become better and achieve new and greater results.
It is impossible to shield ourselves from people who will make mistakes or will let us down. We need those people in our lives. They test our resolve, they teach us to forgive. They teach us to understand outside our own realm of reasoning. Yes, what they do is hurtful, but they teach us the power of forgiveness.
Jesus surrounded himself with people that society never wanted in “their circle”. They were cast out because they offended or broke the rules. Jesus felt that it was more important to be a relative example to those people than to feel he that was better then them and therefore cast them out like they had been so many times before. Jesus was the only one without sin. He could have cast the first stone but he didn’t. He created change in the lives of others because he was able to bring out the good in people. His undying forgiveness was the true example.
There are people out there that sit in their walled fortress passing judgement and only allowed people of like minds to share their company. These people claim to share like minds with Jesus and claim to do his will. Caesar only surrounded himself with people that soley agreed with him. Look where that got him.
From the opening of the song to the end, you can’t help but not be in a good mood when you hear it. The sounds remind you of something from the 70’s, but it’s a new song. Enjoy
I try to leave, but they keep pulling me back in..
It may seem like a quote from The Godfather, but why does it feel so true in life?
Almost 10 years ago walked away from Something that was my entire life. It was a painful decision, but for some reason, there is nagging inside of me that won’t go away.
Did I make the right decision? I think so, but if that is the case, why the doubt? Why the uncertainly? Especially after it’s laid dormant after all these years.
For her 4th birthday, Mo got a digital camera. She’s had this off and on love affair with the thing. (Off because she has a short attention span like her father). On occasion she will want to bring it with her and she goes snap happy taking pictures of everything.
Do you ever wonder what things look like from her viewpoint? Unless you’re short like JG, you have no idea. Well, here is a little glimpse into her world. Click on the photo for more pictures.
Haven’t seen a music review on here lately? Yeah. I know. Consistency isn’t my strong suit. (If you haven’t guessed.)
Recently I had the chance to listen the Snacktime by the Barenaked Ladies and I have to say that it’s quite a good album. It’s a childrens album, but just like recent offerings from They Might be Giants, this album has a reach to adults as well. Kids like the catchy-ness and the the adults and get some of the jokes the guys toss out there. “Ancient Chinese city huh? - from Crazy ABC’s”.
I suggest you give it a listen and you’ll like it for sure. Click on the READ MORE for a video…
It’s full into bike season for Miss Mo. Friday, I snuck away from work and after a rather stress-filled visit to Chik-Fil-A, Mo and I went home so she could ride her bike. Her mommy had her hair put up in pigtails (which looked cute BTW) so when it came time to put her helmet on, it wouldn’t go on without a little improvisation.
Mo’s away with Gram and Grandpa for the week at Star Lake Camp in New Jersey. She’s having the time of her life. My parents have been renting the same cabin for the past 16 years. This is the 2nd time that Mo has gone with them. Does she miss anyone back at home? Nah! But I can tell you that there are people at home that miss her VERY MUCH!!
